HMA Hotspot VPN & Proxy App Reviews

Just installed it. Trying to use it from China. At first it worked but a few ninutes later started disconnecting. Tried to use different servers but failed to connect after more than 30 intents. My son is down in Panama en tells me he is having the same issues. Dont know if this is temporary or normal. If it improves I will update this review. Day 2: Still fails to connect or negotiate with any server on any continent.

I like it a lot because now my tv will play all my favorites.

The HMA Pro VPN is very simple to use and connect really fast. Now I can watch all my favorite series and games while abroad.

Had trouble using with my iPad. Could not log in and was locked out of account although I was able to log in on laptop. Tried to email and chat with support with no response yet. Cancelled my account and still trying to get a refund. Poor customer service.

It doesnt matter how strong your connection is, it is not possible to stay connected to the VPN for longer than 30 minutes. My personal average is about 20 minutes. I heard about a guy that stayed connected for 45 minutes once, but thats clearly just a rumor.

Service works ok. I have used it all over the world. Renewal is more difficult than it needs to be. The in app purchase is not available to renew. Customer service chat is weak at best. Hopefully you never need them.

Ive downloaded the app 3 times to see if it would stop from crashing, didnt work. Every time I try to press a button it crashes. Im not sure what purpose a VPN serves if I cant even activate it. **suggestion** If youre thinking about buying the HMA yearly subscription, dont. I did and now I cant even use it due to this update.

I have problems on pc too. Never connects to site and Hulu keeps saying anonymous on all their servers. I have an annual AC and its a waste of money...

I loved the version 1.7.2 it was great. This new update is very beautiful but we can only select country I will love to be able to select any city I want to be in as in version 1.7.2 please include this in your coming update thank you.make it soon

I buy a one year plan but it doesnt work in China. And I even could not find the support email to help me address the problem.

Clearly charged me more for the service than the advertised rate, and then made it incredibly frustrating to resolve what should have been a simple issue. Ill probably end up putting in a claim with my credit card company to avoid any further frustration/time-wasting

I paid my subscription and a minute later I tried to watch Hulu from my Hulu account using HMAs US IPs as i travel often out of the US and this time i was in South America. It did not work. I tried several times with different IPs and nothing. 2 hours later i asked HMA to be refunded. After nearly 2 weeks of email exchanges i was told HMAs policy is not to refund. So i purchased a service that was not what i expected and the provider does not refund. I dont think its legal to refuse refund, but i dont have time to spend against this company for just a few dollars back

Have been using HMA for years and I am very happy with the money spent. The server very rarely drops, if it does it only takes a moment to rejoin. I love that I can access Amazon videos, Netflix US films/shows and many other sites while overseas. Easy to set up on iPad!

I used this app in China and it worked well but these days it seems to be dropping off. Look elsewhere for a VPN. Good ones seem hard to find these days.

It crashes as soon as I open it.

Hma is not allowing me purchase a plan it disappears when I click the purchase tab.

Used to be an excellent app. Now everytime I turn on the VPN ask for ID/PW. It does not remember anymore the log in credentials. Please fix it. Its too time consuming entering repeatedly the same info!!

I had this app for several years. I also had the HMA service on my desktop computer. It seemed to work okay for a while, then would not assign a different ISP address. I tried to contact the company about another problem, and service was not good. I submitted a question and was provided several links for more information. When I clicked on the links, I got a warning from my web browser that they were dangerous links -- viruses, etc. --and not to use it them. HMA is located in Great Britton. It does not have a U.S. contact number for tech support. I did not want to pay international phone charges to contact the company. Though HMA has a web chat feature, it did not work. I tried several times over different days. Basically, I found it impossible to get answers from HMA. I checked out other VPN companies and found several in the U.S. that have easy contact to tech support. I deleted HMA and got a different VPN service.
